    All types of scholarships and financial aid for international students are highly competitive and require excellent academic records. You will often find the terms "scholarships" and "financial aid" used interchangeably, but technically speaking, a scholarship is a financial award based on merit, including outstanding academic performance, special talent in sports or performing arts, or perhaps community service or leadership. Financial aid is a "need-based" grant based on the student's financial need, as documented by family income, assets, and other factors.

    Accreditation is the system of recognition and quality assurance for institutions and programs of higher education in the United States. When deciding on a program of study, one of your main concerns should be whether the program is properly accredited. There is no legal restriction on the use of the words "accredited," "accrediting body," or "accrediting association" in the United States. As a result, it is important that you check whether an institution and its programs hold accreditation from a "recognized" accrediting body or bodies.     The site contains a variety of information in one easy-to-use landing page with weblinks to additional information.  The documentary-style videos are a central feature on the website.  The videos feature interviews with Chinese students currently studying at U.S. colleges and universities in three regions of the country.  Filming took place at 13 U.S. colleges and universities and features discussions about daily student life including experiences in the classroom and extra-curricular activities.
